Sandy McDonald M.Ed., L.P.C.
Sandy McDonald is a Licensed Professional
Counselor and is the founder of Capital City Counseling. She received her
Master’s degree in Guidance and Counseling at Lincoln University and attended
University of Central Missouri. Sandy is passionate about working with
individuals, couples, families, children, and adolescents using proven
modalities that include cognitive restructuring, behavior modification,
conflict resolution, reframing, communication skill-building, and mindfulness.
Sandy is committed to establishing a comfortable environment in which her
clients see counseling as a positive experience. She enjoys helping people
navigate through all types of relationship problems, life transitions,
depression, anxiety, stress, and trauma. Her style of therapy is compassionate
yet direct to help her clients find the solutions that work for them. She
creates a safe environment where change can occur. Sandy provides life,
personal, career, business, and leadership coaching services. Sandy has been
happily married for twenty years and has a strong love for animals. She is
passionate about encouraging people to adopt from a shelter and to spay and
neuter their pets.
Gina Connor M.Ed., L.P.C.
Gina Connor is a Licensed Professional Counselor working in Jefferson
City Missouri. For the past twenty years she has been working with
children in a professional setting. She started her career as a parent
educator after earning her bachelor’s degree in elementary education at UCM in
Warrensburg. Her career choices have increased her interest in the mental
health of young children and their families. Gina’s career has been
focused on a variety of issues with youth and their families. In the past
four years she has been focused on family therapy, trauma, addiction, and grief
issues. Gina believes treating issues proactively instead of reactively
and in teaching others this mindset. She works with her clients “where
they are at” –with unconditional acceptance- and strives to help others enhance
their personal awareness and growth. Gina has been happily married for
more than twenty years and is the mother of three wonderful daughters.
Beyond counseling, she connects with others through her involvement in theatre
and meditation.
